Model Reflection- six hats decision
Six Hats Decision Model
The Six Hats Decision Model. The Six Hats is an educational strategy that we usually use in reading lessons, to progress with questions from the easiest to the most complex, from the literal level to the inferential level. I liked applying this strategy to a model for solving school problems that you are experiencing. This model includes six hats, A red hat denotes feelings, a green hat denotes creativity, a white hat denotes facts, a yellow hat denotes optimism, a blue hat denotes contemplative thinking and questioning whether the way of thinking is right or wrong, and a black hat denotes objective thinking and critical thinking. This model provides for classifying school personnel into these six hats, collecting opinions and advice from them to be able to obtain all types of viewpoints, and then the decision is made based on the viewpoints collected, so that the solution is balanced and the result is good. Although the idea of the model is wonderful and I liked it a lot, but I wonder: Can the institution or school really disperse to classify its people involved in solving the problem into these six departments and then collect advice from each one of them? It takes time and effort, and I think there are other models that are smoother and easier to implement.
